What usually comes out
Coffee, tea, wine, juice, soda, food, mud, grease and most pet accidents usually come out or lighten a lot, especially if they are treated before they set. Blood and vomit respond well to the right enzyme treatment.
What may only lighten
Red dye from sports drinks and punch, ink, nail polish, hair dye, rust and old urine can often be improved but not always removed completely. Bleach and some acne and cleaning products remove carpet color entirely; those are color loss, not stains, and cleaning can't put the color back.
Stains that come back after drying usually mean the spill soaked into the pad. We extract from the pad to stop that wicking.
Before we get there
Blot with a white towel and cold water. Don't rub, don't use hot water on protein stains like blood, and avoid store-bought spot removers that leave soap behind; they make the spot attract dirt.

Stain removal questions
Can you remove red wine from carpet?
Usually, yes, especially if it is treated within a day or two. Blot, don't rub, and call.
Why did my stain come back?
The spill reached the pad and wicked back up as the carpet dried. Extracting from the pad stops it.
Can you fix bleach spots?
Bleach removes color, so cleaning can't fix it. Spot dyeing or a carpet patch are the options.
Is stain treatment extra?
Normal spot treatment is included with every cleaning. Heavy or specialty stains may be extra, and you'll know before we start.
