Why grout gets dark

Grout is porous. Mopping pushes dirty water into the grout lines, and over time grease, soil and soap scum build up until the lines turn gray or black. Mopping harder won't fix it; the dirt is inside the grout.

How we clean tile and grout

We apply a cleaner suited to the tile, agitate the grout lines, then rinse with high-pressure hot water and extract the dirty water in one pass. Kitchens, bathrooms, entryways and mudrooms are the most common areas. Natural stone like marble and travertine gets a stone-safe cleaner because acidic products etch it.

After cleaning, we can seal the grout so spills sit on top instead of soaking in, which makes the floor much easier to keep clean.

What to expect

Most grout comes back close to its original color. Grout that has been stained deep or was colored with the wrong cleaners may need a color seal to look even, and we'll show you the difference on a test area first.
