Why Persian rugs need care
Persian rugs are hand-knotted wool, often on a cotton foundation, and many use natural or older dyes that can bleed if cleaned with the wrong pH or too much heat. Dry soil works deep into the knots and wears the wool from the inside.
Our process
We inspect the rug with you, test each color, dust out dry soil, wash both sides with a wool-safe solution, rinse thoroughly, clean the fringe by hand and dry it flat. Delicate and valuable rugs are picked up for an off-site wash and returned.
